THE PROSPERITY OF FEHU..........

The Rune Stone symbol "FEHU" relates to prosperity and abundance. The ancient Rune masters would interpret the Rune stones for their tribes. In studying FEHU, I see two arms outstretched, ready and willing to receive, with a receptivity and an openness. Perhaps this is similar to a state of synchronicity where everything seems to fall into place, without the needs for questions and frustrations.

If you take the time to look at the signs and symbols around you... a message could be found. It may be written on a number plate, spoken in the words of a conversation as you pass by, conveyed in the words of a song that you hear on the radio, sublime yet poignant and powerful in delivery.....

Exploring the mythology of Ancient Egypt. Osirus-The father figure, a beacon of light, heralding a respect for those older and wiser. By chance, I happened to pass a shop called "Live and Let live" a few weeks back and have began to absorb the symbols/hieroglyphs revealed. There's a distinct beauty about Egyptian art and culture, timeless yet present.

Bast is an Egyptian symbol for the Patron of the Cats, Goddess of Love and Joy. Most importantly, if you meditate upon BAST, you can increase your creativity and move to a new dimension.(Check author Murray Hope who created the Egyptian Cartouche Card system which draws upon ancient Gods and Goddesses, which can be used for healing and meditation)

I have been contemplating how good it feels to be still. Caught up in the fast lane, creating music, giving workshops and creative sessions is a special and dedicated task. In constant motion, just like a stream. Now the beauty of silence and reflection...a few moments just to find my breath again, till I'm ready to release a more poignant phrase and melody.

WINTER RHYME'S.....................

I recently wrote songs for a children's choir in North London. The rehearsals took place every two weeks in the music therapy room. This would begin with a warm-up stretch, vocal exercises and some tongue-twisters. Then I would teach the children, the melody. This was great for many of the kids who had concentration and interaction difficulties, due to their varying disabilities.

There's a magic in the music, when all can come together, lost in connection, the spontaneity of the moment. I feel so lucky to be a part of this creative process..........x

ARTIST'S WORDS............
Time to hibernate and withdraw, reflect. I like the solitude and to watch the seasons as they change. There's a rhythm in the rain, the wind and the voices around me. I like atonal chords, using the piano, closing my eyes and pitching to notes that blend and some that jar, a new freedom found.......

STORY.."LION'S MESSAGE"..STORY
Once, an old lion was held captive by the people of the lands. They tied him to a huge stake, and put a mighty big chain around his neck. The old lion could venture a short distance to sit in the shade and to reach some water but that was it. When the humans were not looking, the old lion would tug and tug to be free of the chain but to no avail! He felt sad, humiliated and lonely. Infact, life was really pretty grim!

As the years passed by, the lion stopped tugging at his chain. Sadly one day, he collapsed onto the ground and died. You see what the lion did not seem to realise is that one starry night, the people of the lands had actually removed his chain so that he could ROAM FREELY ONCE AGAIN......

If only the lion had not given up! If only the lion had tried just one more time! How important it is to be free in mind, to roam wherever one chooses again and again ..........

Seeking out the Long Tide.......

Cranio-Sacral therapy is a fascinating therapy, developed initially by the work of William Sutherland. It talks of the inner movement of the body, involving the tissues, fluids, skeleton and membrane system. The cranio-sacral rhythm of the body is integral within us all-rather like an inner music system. This also includes the "long tide" and the "mid tide." Cranio-Sacral therapy serves to treat the whole of a person, it's approach is gentle but powerful.

Some practitioners mention that the "long tide" forms an important aspect of healing. It is this time of stillness and therapeutic listening that is vital and essential to the process.Visit www.craniosacral.co.uk for more information

In reflection of my music therapy work......
It seems that the elements of pace and timing are becoming more distinctive. the aspect of allowing a child/adult to be, entering into a musical dialogue when the time feels right. Finding an inner meeting point and waiting to be invited in. Yet for others, the aspect of playing through the transitions has been important, enabling a child/adult to move beyond a distinctive and recognisable pattern, particularly if it has become a more difficult but learned source of expression.

Once a catalyst has been provided, the conversation can often begin to flow again, a dialogue of musical expression can occur spontaneously- containing authenticity and truth, where all superficialities can dissolve, effortlessly.......

In Wisdom of the earth stone................
I have several special stones, some that I place on my dining table and some on my window sill. I rearrange them in the sunlight. The colours are special, rich and varied. They make me smile. I rearrange them in the moonlight and absorb the subtle texture upon my fingertips.

"Any life form in any realm-mineral, vegetable, animal or human-can be said to undergo "enlightenment." It is however, an extremely rare occurence since it is more than an evolutionary progression: It also implies a discontinuity in its development, a leap to an entirely different level of being and most importantly, a lessening of materiality." from Eckhardt Tolle, A New Earth.

Crystal Information......

Crystals have been used by many for up to 80,000 or so years. This includes the ancient civilisations of Altantis and Lemurias. They were used to conduct and to transmit energy. Crystals have been also been used in jewellery, such as the crown, where their purpose may offer beauty and protection.

The birth of a crystal.........

"Crystals form only in the right circumstances. Deep within the earth's crust superheated gases and mineral rich solutions at enormously high temperatures, sometimes find their way along cracks and fissures towards the surface.

As they cool, the constituent atoms..........begin to arrange themselves into more stable relationships with their neighbours. This has the effect of building up regular three dimensional repeating patterns of atoms, known as crystal lattices....." by Crystals and crystal healing power/Simon Lilly
